Duke University and Health System provides elder-care consult services, flexible working options, paid and unpaid parental leave, telecommuting, job sharing, part-time work, and other options to help employees balance the demands of work and family. The workplace lactation-room program for breastfeeding mothers includes 15 rooms. Duke also provides extensive child-care support, including the Duke Children’s Campus, an onsite employer-subsidized infant, toddler and preschool program for 152 children. Employees and dependents are eligible for college tuition assistance and continuing-education benefits. Duke also provides onsite health and benefits fairs and a mobile farmers market.
